The Undergraduate Student Governance board provides recommendations on using student program fees and represents all student constituencies.
About the Board
The School of Government and Public Policy has an Undergraduate Student Governance Board consisting of four students – one representative from each major. The purpose of the Student Governance Board is to represent all student constituencies and provide recommendations on the use of student program fees.
The Director, Undergraduate Director, Undergraduate Program Manager and the Student Governance Board work together to audit allocation of the student fee and ensure that all fees collected are going to provide student resources and experiences.
Board Member Duties
Students who serve on the board remain active until graduation and work in conjunction with the School Director, Associate Director, Undergraduate Director, and Manager of Administration to do the following:
- Discuss updates on the program fee activities and provide recommendations for future activities that will benefit the undergraduate students in ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍø(twice a semester).
- Audit allocation of the student fee and ensure that all fees collected are going to provide student resources and experiences (once a semester).
- Participate in a one-hour meeting once a month during the academic year. Board members must be able to commit to both Fall and Spring semesters.

What are the ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍøProgram Fees?
All Main Campus majors in the School of Government and Public Policy in junior and senior standing are charged a $450 program fee each fall and spring semester until graduation (B.A. in Law students have a program fee of $900). The fees are used for programs that provide student resources and experiences, including but not limited to: academic advising, scholarships, professional skill development, expanded internship opportunities, career networking, speaker series, and seminars.
