Step Up to Justice is a full-service free civil legal center for low-income individuals and families in Pima County, powered by the talents of volunteer attorneys.  Through careful financial stewardship and technology designed to bring civil legal services to clients where and when they need them, Step Up to Justice builds connections between clients, attorneys and community partners.  Step Up to Justice is groundbreaking, forward-thinking and committed to advancing efforts to secure equal access to justice for all.
SU2J welcomes undergraduate students to assist with office administrative work or community education.

Office Administration Internship:
Tasks include data entry, tracking client case outcomes, helping staff set up client clinics, as well as other necessary tasks.
Purpose of Office Administration Internship
Students will have the opportunity to be part of a new non-profit, helping staff build capacity to serve more clients in Pima County.
Agency Qualifications (minimum)
Students must possess a passion for social justice and poverty related issues, as well as sensitivity to working with people from diverse backgrounds. Special consideration will be given to students who have a demonstrated commitment to serving low income or disadvantaged communities.
Agency Qualifications (preferred)
Students who speak Spanish are encouraged to apply. SU2J gives preference to students who can commit to more than one semester. SU2J will also work with students who wish to receive academic credit for their work at SU2J.

About the Community Internship Position:
In addition to providing direct legal services, SU2J has developed community education programs focused on preventing legal crises before they arise. We are seeking a passionate intern committed to this proactive, innovative, and transformative approach to addressing poverty. This intern will play a crucial role in implementing and evaluating our community education initiatives. Responsibilities include collaborating with SU2J staff to prepare for workshops, facilitating data collection, conducting outreach to volunteer attorneys and community partners, and supporting our HOME law clinic.
If you’re interested in serving the community through nonprofit work or considering law school after graduation, this opportunity provides valuable exposure to careers in both law and nonprofit administration.
Qualifications for Community Education Internship:
Technology competence, ability to adapt to new technologies.
• Excellent verbal, writing, and organizational skills.
• Strong personal work ethic.
• Comfortable and confident interfacing with volunteers, SU2J staff, community partners and clients
• Strong attention to detail
