A proud University of Arizona graduate and only child of immigrant parents, Pete Seat is a former White House spokesman, nationally-recognized political commentator, columnist, author, Atlantic Council Millennium Fellow and Council on Foreign Relations Term Member. His first job after graduation was in the George W. Bush White House where he served in the Office of Appointments and Scheduling and later as a deputy assistant press secretary working alongside press secretaries Tony Snow and Dana Perino; traveling to twenty-three countries with the president and logging thousands of miles aboard Air Force One. A respected national political commentator and analyst, Pete has published columns in outlets including POLITICO, CNN.com, MSNBC.com and Newsweek and has appeared as a guest on CNN, FOX News, MSNBC and NewsMaxTV programs a combined 100+ times. He is the author of the book The War on Millennials, a member of the American Enterprise Institute Leadership Network (Spring '18 Class), a Council on Foreign Relations Term Member and was one of 21 individuals, out of 655 applicants from 100 countries, to be named to the 2018 Atlantic Council Millennium Fellow class.

Emine's research agenda covers civil conflict, political violence, terrorism, and states of emergency, using original textual and visual data such as newspapers and satellite imagery.

Her work aims to analyze the underlying causes and consequences of political violence at the sub-national level. Additionally, she investigates the declarations and practices of states of emergency in relation to political regimes at the national level. Her research has been published in the Journal of Peace Research and Terrorism and Political Violence.

In her teaching, Emine focuses on intra-state and inter-state conflict, terrorism, and foreign policy, integrating both theoretical and empirical approaches. She also covers broader topics in political science, international relations, and research methods, offering instruction at both introductory and advanced quantitative levels.

Brian spent 28 years in Federal law enforcement investigating financial crimes as a Special Agent with IRS Criminal Investigation. He spent much of that time as a Public Information Officer warning the public about financial-related scams. Brian retired from the IRS in 2023 and now works as a Community Outreach Specialist for the Arizona non-profit R.O.S.E. Resources/Outreach to Safeguard the Elderly. Brian graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in business/economics and is a licensed (although currently inactive) Certified Public Accountant in California. In 2022, he was recognized as an Honorary Eller College Alumnus.

Jay Dobyns is a retired federal agent having served for twenty-seven years at the Department of Justice. He achieved worldwide notoriety as one of history's most daring undercover operators during high-octane missions targeting America's violent crime while playing a shrewdly-calculating hitman, mob debt collector, and gunrunner. He is best known for his landmark infiltration of the notorious Hells Angels motorcycle gang. He is the author of two best-selling books, No Angel, My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hells Angels and, Catching Hell, A True Story of Abandonment and Betrayal.

Frank Hand holds a Master of Administration with Leadership Emphasis. He has over 42 years of experience in law enforcement and over 34 years with the Tucson Police Department. He currently holds the rank of Captain and is assigned as the Division Commander of the Specialized Response Division, which includes the following units: SWAT, Explosives and Hazardous Devices Detail (Bomb Squad), Service Dog Unit, Air Support & Drones, Hostage Team, Traffic Investigations, Motors, DUI Unit, Rapid Response Team (Community Network Team) and Mobile Field Force. During his career he has worked numerous assignments at various ranks to include patrol services, undercover work, criminal investigations, traffic, special investigations and special operations. In addition, he has been the President of the Tucson Police Commanders Association since 2016 and has served on the Executive Board for other non-profits. This variety of experience provides for a unique perspective of police community relations.
